Soldier and Okadaman Team Up to Rob Tanker Drivers

A serving military man living at the Signal Barracks, Apapa, Lagos, identified as Lance Corporal Jeremiah, has been arrested by operatives of the Area ‘B’ Police Command, Apapa.

The police say that the soldier and his partner in crime operated by attacking tanker drivers with a jack knife before dispossessing them of their valuables. Jeremiah is alleged to also provide the ‘Okadaman’ with an Army uniform to make their robbery easier.
But during interrogation, the soldier man tried to differentiate between robbery and stealing, screaming at the police that he did not rob since he did not use a gun but only a jack knife.
But his partner in crime confessed to the police that he and Jeremiah had been robbing since last year, claiming that it was the soldier who convinced him to join him in the robberies.

He (soldier) said he did not rob the tanker drivers because he did not use gun, but only used to scare them with his jack knife.

The suspects collected N12,000 from one of the tanker drivers on the fateful day they were arrested. What they usually do, is that, wearing Army uniform, both of them would flag down a tanker driver and rob him. On this particular day, the driver was trying to manoeuvre a bend, when Jeremiah and his partner jumped out, they ordered him to stop, but he refused.

They chased him in their motorbike to Liverpool area. When the driver finally halted, Jeremiah punctured his tyres with his jack knife. They collected N12,000 and phones from him.”
