In a time of 9.79, Bolt beat Gatlin by 0.01 sec, and perhaps pulled off one the the greatest victories of his career, against one of the finest sprinters of our time.

Bolt had stumbled out of the blocks in winning his semi-final but found a season’s best run of 9.79 seconds to win the title for the third time.
