Dick Jones, the voice of Disney cartoon Pinocchio, dies at 87

Dick Jones, who provided the voice of the title character in Disney’s 1940 animated classic Pinocchio, has died at age 87.

The actor, who often went by the nickname “Dickie,” passed away on Monday, July 7, after suffering a fall at his home near Los Angeles.
Dick Jones is also survived by his wife of 66 years, Betty; son Jeffrey, two sisters, six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, the newspaper reported.

Pinocchio marked Dick Jones’ most famous, and only, animated role. In addition to his voice performance as the wooden boy whose nose grows when he lies, the actor also appeared in several Western movies and TV shows.

That’s him when he was younger voicing as Pinocchio. R.I.P Dick Jones.
